Education in India: Indian Celebrated National Education Day
November 11, 2008 – 5:32 pmLately India has been observing wide scope campaigns spreading education by leaps and bounds. First an attempt to make Education a fundamental right in India, and then the National Education Day on 10th November 2008 proves India’s awareness and enthusiasm in educating the nation.
Indian HRD minister Mr. Arjun Singh inaugurated the conference that marked this year’s National Education Day. The theme of the meeting was the spread of education to all and every, with equity and excellence. Heading the conference with other influential people, Mr. Arjun Singh stealed the show by offering his views on “Equal Education for All”. He opines that the principle of equity not merely implies a right of education to all, but a right to flourish and grow. Now call it an effect of global economic slash or his conscious observation, he emphasized a need of optimum utilization of funds in colleges and universities. He also expressed a need to spread education insofar it reaches all minority sections. Kudos to India HRD for this!
