India to boost educational ties with Qatar

India is all set to tie an educational bond with Qatar, according to the reports. Explaining it further, a senior Indian embassy official in Qatar told that there were some concrete educational plans proposed to the Qatri officials by T K S Nair, the principal secretary of the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, during his visit to Qatar. Upon recalling, the mission official added further that the Indian delegation led by Nair had proposed some educational offers to the Qatri officials during their visit to Qatar last month. The  meeting among the officials of both the countries was conducted to throw some light on "green light" project, which is about setting up the first overseas education campus (IIT campus) in Qatar.  The proposed institute is expected to be a joint venture of Indian as well as Qatri governments. NCPCR seeks efforts to improve basic education in India

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has revealed the fact that a large percentage of the children in India are still deprived from their basic rights. It has also stated that the situation demands for more efforts to be taken to improve the condition of primary education. The chair-person of the children rights’ body, Shantha Sinha said, "The survival of a poor child as student until he or she completes class ten is precarious. Only 46 per cent of the students reach up to class eight and hardly 22 per cent of them finish class ten," at Maulana Azad Memorial Lectures.
