Higher Studies in India
November 21, 2008 – 5:10 pmAhem ahem…so you believe US is one of the most preferred destinations for Indian students? Well, you now might have to think again. A recent survey in New Delhi has disclosed a striking result. The survey, released on 17th Nov 2008 reveals that India is emerging as a hot spot destination for US students. They have developed a keen interest in Indian education and are enthusiastically enrolling their names in reputed educational institutions like IIT and IIM.
The study further says that the number of US students coming to India for higher studies has increased by a noticeable 24%! Only 2,627 American students studied in India during the 2006-2007 academic years, but 24% is a considerable rise nonetheless. So the figure however small, is not insignificant.
The Institute of International Education (IIE), USA, states that American students have lately shown a great interest in what they call it as “non-traditional education”, and seek further studies options in India, China, Argentina and South Africa. Well, we hope that this two-way education traffic keeps the interest of both the nations glued. After all, Education is the transmission of civilization, isn’t it!
