DUSU Starts National Campaign for Combating Terrorism

February 3, 2009 – 7:16 pm

The 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack has produced a jingoistic fervor in India, and so-much-so that many companies/groups/organizations are starting anti terrorism campaigns. SBEs, banking industries, IT field or educational institutions, the anti terror campaigns are roping in participation from every Indian. DUSU is another inspiring example in this regard. The Delhi University Student’s Union is launching the National Campaign for Combating Terrorism (NCCT) today. The students aim to make the campaign big and address the issues of solidarity and team spirit. To mark the occasion, sportsperson Murli Karthik, Sushil Kumar and Akhil Kumar, with actors Sandeep Hooda and Raima Sen would follow up the ‘peace and harmony run’. The campaign would also hold a debate competition, music fest, a seminar and a two day bilingual theater entitled Madeena.

The campaign has already created a wave in DU and students are keen to participate and demonstrate their anger on terrorism, and disclose their dauntless aspirations that would take India far above. So DU students, pull up your socks and be a part of the NCCT.

  2. NCCT is not a product of DUSU! NCCT is an initiative of a few students from Faculty of Law under the guidance of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam ji, inclusive of Nupur sharma, DUSU president amongst the other three members but DUSU is only helping the team NCCT to reach to larger student masses by providing a platform and getting good credit to it’s name. There are no two ways to the fact that NCCT & DUSU are working together but it’s not one because NCCT is not a political organisation. It is rather an awareness program to join youth from the entire nation to bring about change in our attitude towards our nation & social welfare and meant to go on even after the tenure of the office bearers of DUSU gets over.
