Delhi : Education Hub of India

There has been  a tremendous growth in educational segment over the last decade with new colleges and research institutes being spurted up in Delhi and nearby areas . Delhi has always been the education hub of India with many universities, colleges, schools that arein the top list and known around for the quality education that has resulted in better and efficient work force. These educational institutes are the building block for nation’s development. Several educationalists have praised the quality of education in Delhi. Delhi offers good educational facilities for primary, secondary and higher education. Delhi is also developing as a technical education hub of India which is quite vivid from the number of engineering and management institutes in Delhi that have emerged few years back. University of Delhi and JNU has attracted research scholars from all parts of the world. Delhi also offers hostels and accommodation facilities to foreign students who come for research and other educational purposes.

There are few other private bodies that run educational institutes  by the norms and permission of the government. As per  survey conducted in 2001, Delhi had some 2516 primary, 715 middle and 1676 secondary schools. Well, the technical and higher education in Delhi comprises of 131 colleges, which includes 5 medical colleges and  8 engineering colleges. Delhi also has five universities, seven deemed universities and one Open University.
